During the reign of Shah Reza Pahlavi, three issues of banknotes were published.
The first series were published in 1932 by the National bank of Iran. The design
of the banknotes were more fascinating than those printed in Qajar era and
seemed more patriotic as they had images from Persepolis and other historical
scenes in Iran. What these banknotes had in common, was the emblem of the lion &
sun with the Pahlavi crown above it on the backside of all denominations.
Banknotes of this issue were signed by Dr. Kurt Linden Blatt & Dr. Ali Alamir
and Reza shah is wearing a Pahlavi cap in the portrait of the banknote.
