IRAN Collection ______
In March 1929, the national council of Iran changed the currency unit of the country from Dinar into Rial. Each Rial was equal to 1000 former Dinars and 100 new Dinars. So on the third issue of the Pahlavi coins, Rial is mentioned ( 1 Rial = 1000 Qajari Dinars = 100 New Dinars). The Pahlavi Unit for gold coins were kept unchanged. The style of the coins changes from this issue and the same style is used till the revolution of 1979. Therefore the coins are not similar to the Qajarian style anymore. Also the lion & sun gains some changes: The sun beams are more arranged, the femine face of the sun is completely removed , and there are also some minor differences in the face of the lion and the curve of the sword.
Mintage of Reza Shahi coins in this style continues till 1941 so they are not considered as antiques. Only uncirculated coins that are minted in 1940 & 1941are nearly more valuable.
